The Artist

My name is Arman, aka Meez. I’m from Fort Washington, MD where I’ve been doing art my entire life. I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil. Once in 8 grade, I got in trouble, in school suspension to be specific, for drawing on classmates, giving fake tattoos, during class when we had a substitute. That was when I knew I wanted to be a tattoo artist.

After becoming an adult, I tried to find an apprenticeship, but with the amount of money I was making at the time, there was no way I could afford it along with my other bills. As discouraged as I was, I fell off trying to learn to tattoo, but I never stopped drawing. After a few years, I decided to make a business out of my artistic skill doing other things. I started with customizing and restoring shoes, then moved on to painting canvases. Although neither were as successful as I would’ve liked, I did learn that art is what I’m supposed to do with my life, I just needed to find my lane.

December 2020, I caught covid and although the quarantine was a week, I was out of work for three weeks. During that free time I had, I decided I was going to teach myself how to tattoo. I began to do as much research as I could. I reached out to a very good brother of mine, who was already tattooing, and he was gracious enough to take me under his wing and give me that hand on training that I couldn’t get on my own. With the tips and guidance he gave me, along with my research and A LOT of practice, I did my first tattooing on real skin by the end of December.

May of 2021, I was let go from my job. During that same time, a family member of mine became sick. I had to help tend to their health, all while still being a father, so I wasn’t able to get another 9-5. It put me in a position to where I had to make money on my own schedule, as if life was pushing me into entrepreneurship. I was already tattooing a little bit, it was always a dream of mine, and I had to make money somehow. It was honestly scary to have to rely on something so new to me at the time, but I felt it in my heart that I was supposed to stick with it, so I did, and I’ve been enjoying, learning, and growing in the tattoo industry ever since.

For me, art tells the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual stories that we can’t quite put into words, whether it’s a personal accomplishment that they’re proud of, or a dark place they sunken into, and need a distraction. Art has been my way of turning those negative emotions into a beautiful creation. I just want to help others tell and express their personal stories and feelings the way I tell mine.

Client Aftercare Instructions

Leave wrap on for 24-48 hours after tattoo. When it’s time to take the wrap off, take it off in the shower for less removal pain. Keep your tattoo moisturized using TheraTATT 2-3 times a day.

Wash Instructions:
When washing your tattoo, use unscented soaps, and scrub with your HAND ONLY for the first week. After the first week, you can wash normally.

Clients shouldn't:

1.   Cover the tattoo with sunblock until it's fully healed.
2.  Scratch or pick at the tattoo.
3.  Wear tight clothing over the tattoo, go swimming or immerse your

body in water (showers are fine)
4.  Expose your tattoo to the sun.

All of these things can cause the tattoo to fade away and/or get infected.

Touch Up Information:
One free touch up is given within the first 6 months of receiving the tattoo. It must be a tattoo that I have done.

Index Card Tattoos

If you’re looking to get a tattoo, but don’t know what you want, then this is for you! You’ll pick from a series of index cards with hidden ideas, locations, and styles written on them. I’ll then create a design based on the cards you choose, and that’ll be what you get. • Hand size (bottom of the palm, to the tip of the fingers; capable of going anywhere on the body) • 4 pairs options to choose from • Price: $300

Trade Tuesdays

Every third Tuesday of each month, clients are allowed to trade things for a tattoo, whether it’s clothes, shoes, electronics, service for service, etc. If your artist agrees to whatever you’re trading, you and your artist can then determine the value of your trade, and what tattoo you can obtain to match its value. If the tattoo you want costs more than the value of what you’re trading, you can use your trade to knock down the price of your tattoo. The value must be $100 or more.
